Do you believe in technological development in favor of society?

According to what I know any technological development is ruled by a profit. Moreover, majority of technological achievements originally were invented with the only purpose: to threat other people, to kill them.

Why do we kill our brothers and sisters?

Victor Dolnik in his book "Disobedient child of biosphere" argue that we are animals. Our evolution can not be finished because the instinctive behavior was replaced by the development of our thinking process. Therefore, our internal program, i.e. instinctive behavior is not polished enough to prevent us from doing not logical actions or actions that threat ourselves .

If we look at the animal world - we almost can not find an animal that kills its congener. Yes, there is competition. There are fights between congeners. But they are rarely mortal because there is an instinctive program that blocks usage of mortally dangerous weapons.

For example, during the matrimonial fighting one of the most poisonous snake - Cobras, males do never bite their rival. What they do is they raise their heads as high as possible. The one who managed to raise its head higher is a winner. The one who fall is a looser.

Why do we need to kill our congeners? We do not have internal program that restricts our actions. However, this restriction is imposed by the society by means of the religious, moral and law systems. Nevertheless, these systems are not instinctive and therefore we should constantly control ourselves.

Back to our question... Why do we need to kill people? Is it because of the scarcity of the recourses and as a result we need to kill other people to get enough food for ourselves? Probably, yes. The theory of Golden Billion says that there are enough resources only for one billion people on earth. What is going to be with others - who cares?

Or may be true another theory that says that people are here just to put the carbon that is deep inside of interior of the Earth back into the ecological cycle. After that mankind will become extinct.

Then, may be killing is one of the ways of the natural selecting. What can we do about it? Nobody knows...
Are we that smart to achieve technological society to make everybody happy?
